A Storm of Change

In the township surrounding my home there are a variety of habitats ranging from the lower edge of the Canadian Shield to good farming areas. This large field was simplistic with no trees and a gentle horizon curve, providing a slightly rolling terrain. Grain had been recently harvested, thus the lines in the earth. I had wanted to photograph this field because of the clear vista it provided and was lucky on this day as a summer thunderstorm roared in creating dark and interesting clouds, adding to the feeling and emotion. The ominous sky was interesting in that it represented a change in my photography back to the landscape from street documentary; I had concentrated on for four years.
