Prince Edward Island Sunrise

This photograph was made in Prince Edward Island National Park in a small less visited cove. I had been on a commercial home shoot and extended my stay so I could do some traveling and personal photography. I found this cove from another photographer’s tip and arrived early before sunrise. The red rocks of PEI were used as a compositional frame to lead the eye out to the ocean, as the sun rose just ever so slightly above the horizon. Although shooting into the sun is considered not a good practice, I believe in breaking the rules and doing the unexpected.
